How is Matt's pinky?

Post by jim »

Game 7 of the World Series tonight. I wonder if Matt can gut out the severely sprained pinky and be available for tonight.

I'm not sure we want him trying to gut it out.

Craig homered off of Harrison in Game 3.

If Holliday has been playing with several injuries maybe that explains his poor hitting but his play last night looks like his head's not in the game. No, I don't have a statistic to prove it.

I'm more concerned about Matt's health than anything.

I asked Jay Cutler and he said not a chance.

We should cut out his other appendix.

I hope no Cardinal ever plays the Home Run Derby again.

Yeah! This could affect his quality of life for like 3 days after this game. He needs to think of what's best for him and his family. This is just a game, after all.

I'd sit Holliday, but keep in mind, Josh Hamilton has been playing a lot like Holliday lately. How many of us felt fairly certain that Hamilton wouldn't be able to get around on a Motte fastball at the end? I know I did. That said, that's not making an excuse for Holliday, particularly his play in LF last night nor getting picked off. But let's not overlook the great job to break up the DP by taking out Elvis either.

Clearly Holliday is hurt. He's not getting around on fastball, and they're killing him in. But if he plays, he could have a huge night. I like Craig being out there, though, even if he did pretty much hit worse than Holliday after his first AB as a starter in this series.
