Football Draft Strategy

I know a lot of you are in the GRB one (when is that draft?) but I figured the rest of us could discuss some tips and strategies.

I'm in a league at work and just got the 4th spot (of 10). It's a point per reception league. But 7/10 top scorers were QB's last year.

I'm down with CJ, Peterson and MOJO. There's nothing after thats a clear cut good choice. Ray Rice is Yahoo's pick, and Baltimore is still a run first team, so he seems like a decent option. I'm just worried I'll end up with Tony Romo as my QB. I feel like QB's are a pretty known quantity and really good RB's are always on the WW if you get them early enough (Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson come to mind), so I'm debating taking Peyton/Brees/Rodgers 4th overall and whatever running back gets back to me.

Why would you be worried about getting Romo?

Not a huge fan, but he's been pretty good and has his best set of wideouts this year.

I hate the guy as well, but he's been a top 5 QB the last few years and has a hell of a receiving corps. I think I took him with my 2nd pick at 22 overall in the GRB draft.

I don't mean I'm not a personal fan, just that he's just one of those players I don't like as a fantasy player.

Any other thoughts though?

Take MJD. Your next pick wouldn't be until 16, right? If so, Schaub/Rivers are right around there.

No chance MoJo is there at 4, I like him over Peterson.

Rice will be there. One of the Top 5 RBs will be there. If you wanna take Brees, a #1 WR will be around the 16th pick range.

Right, I keep leaning towards Rice. I'm hopin Manning falls all the way to me, but I live in Indy so I doubt it.

In my 16 team league, Manning went at 10. Rivers/Schaub will be right around there. Or, take a RB at 4, WR at 16 and a QB at 24.
