So how long do you carry your dead weight?

In one league, I have Tulowitzki and Cano. I don't know how much further I can go with these guys.

I'm debating the same thing with Ian Kennedy. I hate to drop him given he pitches with that line up behind him, but good grief.

I don't know that I'd be in a hurry to drop Cano. What are the other 2b options?

Similar problem with Tulo. He started this ice coldly last year, as well.

If it's guys with a semi-established level of production like that, you carry them as long as you can. Keep them on the bench if you have to. No use in having them when they're slumping, then watching them tear it up later for another team. Think if you dropped David Wright early last year.

With rookies, I'm more open to dumping them. Or pitchers that I think may be hurt. Mostly, it all depends on how available other options are. In my NL only league, it's extremely slim pickings on the waiver wire, so you hold on to guys even when they suck. i.e. I still have Andrew Miller on my team. :?

In this particular league, Hudson's available at 2nd and Keppenger and Theriot are available at SS. Worth benching until the other guys start to come around? My problem now is Posada's down for the foreseeable future and this league doesn't have a DL. Drop Posada altogether and pick up one of those guys?

- Drop Posada.

- Do not drop Tulo for either of those SS's. Maybe pick up Kepp. if you can free up space for a stop-gap until he tanks and Tulo comes around (which he has been a bit lately).

- Heavily consider dropping Cano in favor of Hudson.

if you're going to drop Cano I would try hard to trade him. I wouldn't do either. I would hang on to them and try to use your bench to fill in.

Send Cano to me in the other division. :) I'd keep em both.

I keep my dead weight way longer than I should. I still draft Zach Duke in my keeper leage 3 years after he put up that 1.81 ERA...
