Baseball Talk has gotten intimidating.

There are threads that I completely don't understand. Way over my head. And that's fine, I read them anyway.
But part of the balance, in my opinion, should be the fun side of baseball.
If you are going to move fun / sarcastic baseball threads (only some of the time for certain posters, mind you), you will need to create a seperate forum for numbers only / and baseball fans that feel like they can only post in social, because their opinion isn't important.
Just saying.

Because I feel guilty for the hijack, I do understand/mostly agree.

I agree with you Leroy. Some of the sabrmetric and other stuff is a lost cause for me. I don't look that much into it as some do. Nothing against those that do, but it's not for me.

If you don't enjoy them: Don't read them.
If you don't understand them but would like to: Ask questions. You will get answers, and you will not be made to feel bad for asking the question.
If you don't think there are enough threads on topics you like: Start one yourself that you think will be interesting
What we do have too many posts in those threads either making fun of the poster, or of the methodology.
