Memphis won 4-3 against Albuquerque. Mike Parisi gave up 3 runs over 7 innings. Brian Falkenborg picked up his 9th save. Brendan Ryan continued his impressive rebound and went 2 for 4. Ryan Ludwick was 2 for 3 with a homer and is apparently now a St. Louis Cardinal. Box Log
Springfield won 1-0 against the Arkansas Travelers. Eric Haberer pitched 8 scoreless innings. Based on game scores, that was the third best performance by a starter this season. I made some negative comments about him after his last start, so I’m happy to see this. Chris Perez made it interesting in the ninth by giving up 2 walks but then picked up his 6th save. I guess he was just trying to prove that he can be a true replacement for Izzy. Joe Mather was 1 for 3. Tyler Greene was 1 for 3, and the hit was a homer that resulted in the only run of the game. Palm Beach lost 4-1 to the Sarasota Reds. Adam Daniels gave up 2 earned runs (4 total) over 4 and 2/3 innings. In fairness, he was victimized by some pretty shoddy defense. Allen Craig and Jose Martinez were each 1 for 3. Box Log
Quad Cities won 5-4 against Cedar Rapids. Eddie Degerman was promoted from extended spring training and made his first start of the season. He gave up 3 runs (2 earned) with 6 Ks over 5 innings. Costarter Shaun Garceau gave up 1 run over 3 innings with 4 Ks. Kenny Maiques picked up another save. Brandon Buckman was 2 for 4 with a double. Box Log
