Memphis won 6-5 against Iowa. Troy Cate had his second start of the year. It was Mike Parisi’s day to start, so I wonder if the Cardinal’s are shuffling the schedule for some reason related to Chris Carpenter. Box Log

Springfield won 2-1 against the Tulsa Drillers. You really have to feel for Cory Rauschenberger. He might have finally been able to have a good game, but a hour rain delay ended his night after 1 inning. Bryan Anderson was 2 for 3. Colby Rasmus was 1 for 4 with an rbi. Box Log

Palm Beach lost 11-3 to Vero Beach. Tyler Norrick, who was probably due to have a bad game after 4 great starts in a row, gave up 4 runs over 3 and 2/3 innings. He had 6 strikouts however. Shane Robinson was 1 for 3 with a homer and another stolen base. He has 8 steals so far this year. Brandon Yarbrough and Nathan Southard were each 2 for 4. Box Log

Quad Cities won 5-3 against Burlington. Burlington has had the best pitching in the Midwest league so far, so it’s not surprising that the team hasn’t really had a big game offensively against them. Costarters Shaun Garceau and Mike Schellinger gave up the 3 runs over 7 innings but only 1 was earned. Kenny Maiques pitched a scoreless ninth with 2 Ks. Brandon Buckman was 1 for 3. Right fielder Luke Gorsett was 2 for 4 with a double. Box Log
