We have to spend money sooner or later. Will we ever sign an 8 figure per year free agent again?

They have them under their fiscal control until after 2011. Wouldnt' that be jumping the gun a bit?

That wouldn't surprise me. Although I'm not sure how big it will be. I can't imagine more than a 3-year deal, and it would be hard to justify a huge amount based on his past health.

Abreu and Ichrio are the "big names". But the Offesnse needs so pop, so I would guess that OF is the place we get it?

Anyone else nervous about the idea of signing Eck to another 3 year deal? At the same time I can't figure out who in the world could replace him. Maybe Walt pulls Tejada out of his hat.
