Unlimited, Free Joost Invites

If you guys don't already know, Joost is the new project from the creators of Skype and Kazaa. It is a P2P television network that lets your watch TV on your PC or Mac, basically. It has been in public beta, invite only, for awhile. However, today, they started giving unlimited invites to their beta testers. Well, I was one, and now I have a ton of invites. People have been charging for these in the past, but if you want a free one, just check out my blog below and it explain how to get one. You'll have it within a few hours.

For example. The NHL is brining the Stanley Cup Finals to Joost. You will be able to watch it on there anytime you want, for free. CNN and CBS have signed. Adult Swim is coming with Aqua Teen Hunger Force, etc.

Thanks for sending me the opportunity to participate in the beta. I have dowloaded and installed the software.
This is interesting stuff but I don't really see any advantage to this over using Slingbox to stream content from my DVR to my PC. Also the commercials are very intrusive. I am guessing this will be a free service paid for by commercial sales.

I like the idea of on-demand TV but I'm not sure this model will be successful.

Just give it some time. They are adding a ton of content soon like the NHL, CNN, CBS, Adult Swim, etc. Keep in mind that they are in beta and no where near being done with adding content.

Advantage over slingbox would be that you don't have to pay. The commercials haven't bothered me so much yet, but I guess I'm just comparing it to regular TV. Just think if you could have any TV show on demand at some point, that would be awesome.
