Friends don't let friends listen to indie rock
I think this anti-drug PSA was somehow well intentioned, but my jaw literally dropped hearing this:

I thought that was classified as "emo"...omaha_red wrote:it's a bunch of rich kids that start a band to complain and whine aboutStL Dan wrote:What is indie rock?

Panic! at the Disco, Hawthorne Heights, Kill Hannah, etc etc. All of those examples would be (crappy) emo music.
And I always assumed "indie" were just people who were on independent record labels.

Isn't is a little ironic that this PSA is telling kids to live above the influence and be themselves, but at the same time to also listen to the government and be influenced by what it has to say about weed?ghostrunner wrote:I think this anti-drug PSA was somehow well intentioned, but my jaw literally dropped hearing this:

Think for yourself... unless the government is doing the thinking for you.

Oh, come on. There's probably a kernel of truth there, but essentially it's just a band without a major record deal, which is how they usually start.omaha_red wrote:it's a bunch of rich kids that start a band to complain and whine aboutStL Dan wrote:What is indie rock?

The way things are going with downloadable music, I think it'll be the norm pretty soon. Labels are losing their value.
