Check out my new blog!

Post by skmsw »

Introducing Steverino's Pitch Count, the new blog featuring the comments of yours truly on the Grand Game.

There you'll find my usual brand of off-beat observations, with the characteristic Steverino emphasis on evidence-based approaches to understanding baseball, the usual slant towards lifelong favorite team the cards and lifelong home [if home is a state of mind, anyhow, because I have not lived every minute in New England] team the Red Sox, and the usual search for outcomes-oriented knowledge about what works on the diamond, in the dugout, and in the front office.

Since I have employment that takes scads of my time and sometimes limits what I can say, I'll write and post articles when I'm able, and post brief thoughts and observations whenever I feel like it. Wish I could update it as regularly as I want, but apologies in advance for the fact that I probably can't; here's hoping that I will not be the Image Comics of Cards blogs.

I've started the blog off with part one of a three part series of articles looking at the 2007 Cards. Part One reviews the lens I am using to contemplate the team; a snapshot of how I think about baseball, so that there is a clear context to how I then perceive what the team does or does not do. Part Two will include a review and analysis of the cards' off-season and to some extent spring training. Part three will look at my expectations for the 2007 season.

People who think I am wrong about stuff and disagree with me intelligently and articulately make me smarter -- I hope to see you there! People who agree with me still know stuff I don't, we can learn from each other -- I hope to see you there too!

Pretty much you know what you're getting when you visit a Steverino blog, and Steverino isn't everyone's cup of tea. No fair being surprised when it is exactly what you should have expected it to be.

Thanks to Michael and Gateway Redbirds for hosting, and for assistance constructing the site -- the mundane-ness is entirely my own, but the fact that it looks good and works is entirely to Michael's credit.

So I take it that people that disagree with you that aren't as smart as you should stay away?

Looking forward to reading.

I wonder if it wouldn't be wise to shut off comments there and point users to this forum for comments/discussion? Each post could point to a discussion thread here where we could discuss (read: rip your red sox slanted gibberish apart at the seams).

(chuckle) Actually, think more the opposite. I plan on ruling my blog with an iron fist.
