I think the Robert situation had different layers for what they said.

1. There’s no guarantee he would be good
2. If he’s good, he would have to be paid again
3. That money not spent on Robert could be allocated to the MLB club

Like an onion, and just as stinky.

Russell Wilson (yeah, that Russell Wilson) was traded to the Yankees for cash considerations.

I'm wondering if he Googled himself in his agent's office.

According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, free agent starter Lance Lynn is drawing interest from "seven or eight teams."
The list includes the Brewers and Orioles, but both of those clubs are believed to be exploring the trade market for rotation upgrades at this time. Goold also mentions the Cubs, Twins, and Mets as possible suitors while noting that the Cardinals are "not in the mix." Lynn, 30, returned from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery last season to register a 3.43 ERA in 186 1/3 innings for St. Louis. He boasts a career 3.38 ERA in nearly 1,000 innings at the major league level.

"A couple" baseball executives told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick they believe Logan Morrison "has his eye on the Royals as a landing spot."
That's if the Royals don't wind up re-signing Eric Hosmer, of course, and at this point it's looking like a distinct possibility that they do bring him back. A Kansas City native, Morrison said earlier this offseason that it "would be a dream come true" to play for the Royals. However, it's unclear at this point whether the Royals are viewing LoMo as a fallback option to Hosmer.

Boston is heavy on him as a plan B to losing out on Martinez.

It feels like the longer the Darvish situation drags on the slighter the Twins chances get. Does this feel accurate to you?

That's my feeling. I think -- I *think* -- the only reason he's still out there unsigned is because he's waiting for the Dodgers to trade Matt Kemp
