Thank you for playing into my hand. There was no association between flowers in the hair, hippiedom, and punk rock. The song extols the peace movement of the 60's but lumps it with punk rock of the 70's. They are not related. Punk was part of the government sponsored initiative to dumb down society by making drugs easily available. Cf a song by System Of A Down whose name escapes me.

The statement is logically true. There were punk rockers in 77 but not 69.

Sorry if your ego is bruised. No one wore flowers in their hair in 1977. There was no punk in 1969.

I seriously do not understand how people have kids and hold down demanding jobs. At all. Traveling for work with kids? Forgettaboutit! Mad respect for you people. Mr. Planet is on a mancation this week with his bros and after being downtown since 7:30 with partner meetings all day two days in a row culminating in happy hour until 9:30, it's all I can do to keep up with [expletive] at the house and my cats. I'm beat. I guess my kidless life has lead to major slothdom.

I don't understand how people have kids. Just thinking back in the last month of all the things I wouldn't have gotten to do if I had kids.

I would guess the parenting is sacrificed for those people, because you're not going to hold a demanding job for long if you're very involved with your kids. My kids get sick, have appointments, they have ball games and when that stuff comes up I have to work around it. Some people aren't able to do those things and it falls either to the other parent or a nanny or grandparent.

Also, I've got 2 kids and I'm pretty slothy. We don't sign them up for a lot of activities. The oldest is 10 now and he plays baseball and that's it so far. We sign him up for occasional camps and activities, but no travel teams, no music lessons, etc... I play with them sometimes, but mostly they entertain themselves which is something we've encouraged/pushed. My wife is big about getting them outside when weather permits, which is probably a good thing.
