So our vacation is over. Boston is a really cool city. I'm not a city person but I really enjoyed it. The historic aspects, the modern renewal the city seems going through, and the people were friendly. My wife and I both enjoy history so we hit the revolutionary war sites pretty hard. Lexington and Concord were really something. It's weird to say but I just had this odd humbling feeling standing a the spot the "shot heard round the world" was fired. Following Paul Revere's ride to warn that the British were coming, and seeing the old North Church where the lanterns were hung.
The Canadian Maritimes are beautiful. We did some lighthouse tours, and a sight seeing tour of PEI. Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia was probably the highlight as it was this quaint fishing village with a rugged short and beautiful lighthouse. I wish we had more time there.
It was nice to get away, but I don't think I would do it on a cruise again. Seemed like we were always hurried when we were on shore. I do hope to go back someday though.
