Re: Cats
I would never do this intentionally, but there is nothing funnier than seeing a cat lying lazily on the couch suddenly go from 0 to 60 in about .00006 milliseconds when you accidentally step on your son's squeak toy.

Re: Cats
Sometimes they just do that for no particular reason; or as my hubby likes to say, "They're thinking, [expletive] I'm supposed to be in the other room!"Hungary Jack wrote:I would never do this intentionally, but there is nothing funnier than seeing a cat lying lazily on the couch suddenly go from 0 to 60 in about .00006 milliseconds when you accidentally step on your son's squeak toy.

My cat killed his second mouse of his life yesterday, and has been walking around like he's hot [expletive] ever since. It's pretty hilarious.
By the way: Are any other animals sadistic? Other than humans, that is.

Re: Cats
Well, about a year ago I adopted a tiny little runt I named Walter. He grew into a pretty awesome snobby primadonna sumbidge. Two bachelors, living happy. Anyway, I'm moving across the country, and couldn't take him to my new place. I expect to be traveling a lot anyway.
So, I had to give him away today. But! He's going to a great family with other young cats, and is a birthday present for a little 8 year old boy who already is bedazzled by Walter's smug charm. It's probably going to be an awesome match for both of them. I had to turn away when they were closing their car, though. Got a little verklempt. I'm going to miss all the friends I've made here bunches, but that cat is going to be on my mind always.
Sigh.

Re: Cats
Sad, but congrats. Where are you moving to?
I know when I moved to NY I didn't know if the place I was moving to would allow pets, so ex-Mrs. Swirls and I had to leave Oscar and Sophie at my parent's house for about 6-7 months until I was finally able to make the cross-country drive the following summer and pick them up.

Yeah, forever homes is foster lingo for going to their adopted families. Still tough to give those tinies up.
Sorry to hear Maclowery. You could tell you really loved that guy, but it's great you were able to set up a friendly home for him. That's a tough one. Where are you moving?
