Little flash of the leather by Nelly in LF
He's more athletic than people think. He also runs pretty well. And I'm going to start calling him "Thumper", because of Marmol's quote on the reason he was called up. (Thump)

JoJo hits Wagaman in the foot and the Mets have a 2 out baserunner.

Cardinals win their sixth in a row and clinch a series win against the Mets. Pallante threw six solid innings and gets the win and improves to 7-4 on the season. Mets opener Warren takes the loss and is 1-3. Svanson and Romero combined for three scoreless relief innings. The Cardinals had homeruns from Nelson Velasquez, Jordan Walker and Alec Burleson. Walker's 17th homer sets a new career high in a season for him with 97 games left to play.

Hello Jack. Glad to keep seeing you so often.

Good offense and pitching today. Great to see Svanson with scoreless outing. 13 pitches in 2 innings. I would have left him in to pitch the 9th.

The bullpen is mostly unchanged from the start of the season and has gone from apparent flaw to apparent asset.

Yeah, Stank, has been better for a while, Svanson has been scoreless the last couple of outings, & Bruihl has not been brutal lately. But another big key is the changes in the bottom 3rd of the lineup. Tonight's lineup card was the best look of offense we put out all season.

This is indubitably the premiere sporting event in New York this evening.
