Anyone watched Beef on Netflix?
It's good.
I started yesterday and flew through the first three episodes. Pretty addictive series. I am not sure if I love or hate everyone yet though. Leaning toward hate.
It's good, right? A dark comedy, but ends up being pretty deep insofar as it explores how shame and feelings of being unworthy and fear of being rejected by those whose love we crave if our flaws and insecurities are revealed manifest as depression and rage as life goes on. It gets kind of trippy towards the end, in a good way. Very well acted show too.
I've now finished it. Well put; I think that describes the tone of the series rather well. At times throughout the season I would shake my head at each character and be disgusted by them but then there are times when you can't help but feel sympathy and relate in some ways to their fragile emotional state. The acting was ++

I inhaled Beef over three or four days. Not something I often have a chance to do. Indeed very addictive. Sometimes the tonal shifts for something like this get at me, but they nailed that to. Stories about empathy really resonate with me these days. Great show.
One knock; it assumes a large television. Because of the sex and swears I was watching on my bedroom tv. I’d have to pause and get closer to read the text messages.

How did we fail in such a way that Krasinski and Pratt are action dudes now and not doing Fletch retreads or supernatural romantic comedies?

I binged through Jury Duty on Amazon Prime - FreeVee in a day...it was a fun watch especially the final episode.
Essentially it is a fake trial with all actors except for one guy; who has no idea it is all fake and thinks they are making a documentary about being on a jury. They found the perfect guy to be the so called test subject for the project. James Marsden plays himself as one of the jurors (Los Angeles County civil court)

Succession is pretty good still.
Barry has been meh.

- Everything Tom does is calculated. One of the best characters on TV in a long minute.

I tried watching
The Peripheral on Amazon Prime, but I thought it was awful. There are a lot of interesting sci-fi concepts, but the writing is terrible. Lots of silly dialog/situations and "I can totally explain what is happening right now, but I won't because it will be soon all clear to you" mystery box annoyances.
I was hoping with William Gibson attached it would be better. Bleh.

Every show that netflix, amazon, and apple releases seems like it was created by an AI. They're all just uncompelling, expensive blobs to me.
