I love how they handled Logan's death. We all knew it was coming, and coming in this, the final season. I mean, the show's called Succession! He has to die for that to make sense! Anyway, just masterful. I've never seen any entertainment handle the fog of live, unfolding chaos so well. Is this real? Is someone [expletive] with me? Is this happening? Tell me it's not happening! Maybe they can save him? What is happening!
Just a truly unique way to take an expected plot point and make it compelling.
It also broke my heart how no one thought to even tell Connor for like 20 minutes.

I agree that you knew it was going to happen this season; but it still was a shocker to me to happen so early in the season. But I think that will make the void of his passing a lot more real on the show than if it happened with 1 or 2 episodes left. It just sucks because he is such a good actor and that will be missed. The thing that surprised me about it also was that for it to be his send off episode; he didn't have a great deal of screen time.
Added to the shock value I think.

This show intentionally doesn't do flashbacks. It's kind of a shame, because I think it leaves a gigantic blank for these characters' childhoods. Things are just hinted at from their childhoods. Logan had Connor's mom committed. Logan hit Roman. You could make an entire prequel show just addressing the no-doubt traumatic events of the kids' childhoods.
I'm glad they did it early in the season. My only mild complaint about this show has been that it kind of feels like the same thing happens a lot. The kids, mostly Kendall, try to get one over on their dad and lose in the end because he always wins. It's more like a comedy like Seinfeld or Everybody Loves Raymond in that particular way. Create a new scenario and let these messed up people just react and be themselves and mine gold from that. Which works really well. Still it'll be nice to see how they mess with the formula since they'll all presumably be at odds with each other now, and alliances shifting episode to episode. The time they've spent with characters like Gerri and Karl and Karolina will probably pay off big time now.
I liked that they worked in at that one shot of Logan's bodyguard looking totally lost.
Also, this is petty but Vidor would hate this thread. I don't know about you but I take comfort in that.

The scope of Ted Lasso is getting so large. They introduce a whole new soccer team and a whole new business with Keeley, expand Ted’s ex and her social circle. Bring in new players, expand on others. Pretty crazy. Like The Matrix Triology or something. Can’t help but think of how expensive it is. Story wise it seems fine so far. I guess they are decreasing the impact of other characters.
Also, why would West Ham sign up to be the bad guys?
