Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin: The Thread
I think you guys all just need to take a break. Everyone is representing their own ideas and opinions. It's the sharing of ideas and points of view, while refraining from killing each other, that makes our country great. That being said, there are too many "You" and "We" and "Us" and "Them" instead of "I Think" or "In My Opinion"....because it is that Your Opinion. We ALL get to have them. I hate political talk, but I am enjoying this thread. Just remember we're all here because we have a common link (I think). Who leads the nation is not nearly as important as the wild card race. Get your priorities straight. It's a 3 day weekend!

TFG, your political views suck.TimeForGuinness wrote:To be honest, I found this debate very informative...I wasn't trying to make enemies or say that someone was wrong. I consider you all my friends and don't view this discussion in hampering our abilities in discussing something that is more important than politics: baseball.
Cheers to those who came into this with an open mind and could freely discuss the issues without attacking other posters and their views.

because GWB had so much more experience when he was elected with his 5 years of being a governor and 30+ years of being a failure at business (other than when he was able to make money through selling his compay stock pretty much the day before it nose-dived...maybe he talked to Martha Stewart)...
just as with all issues, it was a non-issue when a person was on the other side....

I really am trying to learn, and one thing I need to do a better job of is to shut up and listen more. The nature of these boards also leaves so much context out that things get interpreted wrong.
I do think in some ways that this country is more divided than ever, and it's hard sometimes not to get sucked up into the you vs them thing. I honestly and truly do not understand the other side on many issues. The war I see - bad guys vs good guys. We can argue about who is bad and who is good and how bad they are and how we know - but the general concept is crystal clear to me. But there are just other things that I don't even understand the most basic of premises being proposed, and when I need to open my ears more that is precisely the time they shut tight.

I can't believe this thread has reached over 90 pages and most of it came because of Sarah Palin.
God what a horrible choice. Disaffected Hillary Voters do not represent a very big bloc.

Is it a horrible choice because you don't agree w/ it?

It's horrible because she's the most inexperienced person to ever be on a presidential ticket. Just two years ago, she ran a town of freaking 8,000 people.cardinalkarp wrote:GatewaySnayke wrote:I can't believe this thread has reached over 90 pages and most of it came because of Sarah Palin.

The good news about this thread is that any comment that I regret will never be found by 98% of the people. I can't even find it, and I posted it like 2 hours ago.
