Tim McCarver will call the 24th World Series of his career, and probably his last, beginning Wednesday. At 72, he is leaving Fox Sports, where he has been one of the top analysts in the game. Although he has not ruled out a future role in baseball broadcasting, McCarver says he will, for now, pursue his passion for wine, learn to cook and spend time with his family.

This thread makes me think about former Cardinal Colby Rasmus which makes me think about the trade, the WS win, the NLCS appearance the following year and the WS appearance the year after that which makes me wonder about (mostly) Former Cardinal Fans and what they have to say about the Organization now, one that is almost universally lauded as one of, if not the best in baseball.

Is it my imagination, or is traffic on this forum really low lately?

Anyway, the Royals continue to kick the tires on ex-Cardinal pitchers by signing Brett Tomko to a minor-league deal.

Everytime that someone mentions Tomko I'm shocked that he's still in the majors.

Every time Tomko signs a contract, an agent gets some bling.
