The Cardinals SHOULD win.
No DOUBT... LH must be too young to remember 85. #-o

I definitely am excited, but don't think I'll be able to relax until they've clinched it. I remember 1985 and 1996 all too well so am trying to take it in stride. If and when they win, I'll simply be in shock and it won't sink in for a few weeks. Hell, I still haven't gotten over the fact that this team that gave us ulcers all summer and is far weaker than the 2004 and 2005 teams upset the Mets in the NLCS and is now one win from being world champions. It's funny, too, because I distinctly remember posting in the middle of one of the 8-game losing streaks something to the effect of, "Wouldn't it be absolutely crazy if this team actually surprised the hell out of all of us and actually won the World Series?" Well, they sure have done that (surprised us) and here we are. Unbelievable.

Also agree that AP is way overdue and it would be freakin' spectacular if he came up huge tomorrow night and the Cards clinch at Busch.

Every Cardinals World Series that they have won since '46 has gone seven games.

You'll have to excuse my mess-up, I rarely acknowledge the '04 WS.
And every WS they've been in, win or lose, since (and including) 1946 has gone 7 games except for '04.

We won in '46, '64, '65 and '82. Lost in '68, '85 and '87. All 7-game Series.

I'd just as soon wrap it up at home tomorrow. The first 5-game Cardinal WS of my lifetime would be very sweet.

That's definitely something that has gotten my attention this World Series. He seems to be having fun with it for a change. It's awesome to see a guy who's done this for so long loosen up like he has late in this postseason. I co-sign the "St. Louis love for La Russa" idea as well.
If Cards win, does TLR leave?
You know what it wouldn't surprise me. I hope he doesn't though.
I haven't heard that be brought back up again during all this. I'm curious how Tony feels now or if he's even thought about it.

Let's amend it one more time - We won in '46, '64, '67 and '82

This ranks right up there with the first World Series Game 4 Cardinal victory of my lifetime.

This is the first offseason I've not practiced any superstitions. I said they'd win the NLCS after game 5. The Cardinals are going to win the World Series.
No jinx.

Stop it longhorn....seriously, it isn't over yet.

I am excited too, but I remember '85 and '87 vividly.

Among all the young stud pitchers.

After this thing is over, Feb 15 is going to take FOREVER to get here!

It really wouldn't surprise me if Tony left. I think he should. He went through the most grinding season, bickered with players and might end this long and trying season with a World Series, officially cementing his legacy as one of the great Cardinal managers.

I have very mixed feelings about La Russa, but if the Cardinals win this thing, it would be very fitting for him to go out this way.
