This storm moving through is nuts. In Denver it dropped 24 degrees in 7 minutes. In Wyoming, 43 degrees in one hour. Just hoping this flash freeze followed by heavy winds doesn't cause widespread power outages for days.

Even here in desert-adjacent Austin, we dropped from 60 to 34 during lunchtime, and windchills could hit -5 tonight. I could have stayed in the midwest if I wanted this [expletive].

I have a four year streak of never turning on a heater in the state of Florida. I will not be broken by this cold front. I swear to each and every one of you, my heater will not get turned on. If I do, I will renounce my midwestern heritage.

I can see the headline now:

4 degrees here in Huntsville, Al but everything is dry and the sun is out. We dodged the worst of it for sure. It's just going to be cold the next three days is all.

It was -13 with a 40mph wind when I went out to check on things this morning. Needless to say I didn't stay outside long .
