@pioneer98 There's a typescript of your great-great grandfather's poem in Mother Jones' archive at Catholic University. It looks like it was either typed up for her or sent to her. You can find a record of it here: https://findingaids.lib.catholic.edu/re ... ects/77861 and there's an image of it here: https://www.jstor.org/stable/community. ... 48ef&seq=1

The poem is misdated: it appears in the May 15, 1913 issue of The Miner's Magazine, on page 14, here: https://archive.org/details/minersmagaz ... q=langford

According to a note after the poem, Langford wrote it many years prior to that, but the editors thought it was especially appropriate to print it in that issue. (Several issues carry news of Jones' activism and arrests.)

EDIT: I found reference to an even earlier publication of the poem. Footnote 45 in this book mentions that "Mother Jones" was published in the United Mine Worker's Journal on July 17, 1902.: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Wr ... frontcover

Additionally, if you search "Oscar Langford" in Internet Archive, he pops up in a few publications associated with labor unions and printers: https://archive.org/search?query=%22osc ... 22&sin=TXT

Similarly, if you search "Oscar Langford" in Google Books, he pops up in lots of publications. He lived to be over 90!: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22osca ... z-modeless

Is the progressive magazine/website Mother Jones named after the same woman?
