And I'm glad the Cards took a flyer on him when he was released from the Reds so he was able to get that ring. So sad.

Just shocking.

God Rest Ye Josh Hancock

He will be truly missed. He was that pitcher that never stood out, but you always need on a team. Someone who will take the ball when asked, give you one, two, or even three strong innings. Trying to find a suitable replacement will show just how valuable he was to this team.

Godspped to ou Mr. Hancock.

Plowing in to the back of a wrecker with its lights on begs the question - suicide or alcohol? Too bad - lots of tragedy around this team the last few years. You just never know.

On another forum, someone suggested - especially in light of the oversleeping thing a couple of days earlier - that perhaps Hancock had some sort of sleeping disorder and may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

RIP

He seemed like a genuinely caring guy from what I've heard.

I'm speechless with regard to how this actually happened. Does anyone know how he managed to find himself driving on the shoulder?
From reports, the tow truck wasn't on the shoulder (there is no shoulder on that stretch of highway), he was in the left hand lane, cleaning up a prior accident.
What highway/street was he on?
