I'm partial to the Black Thorn or Lemmons. But there are others (that I'm drawing a blank on right now). They're dives, they're smoky, but the pie is excellent.

Since I don't live there, I defer to RC's opinion, but I've always thought Farotto's on Manchester in Rock Hill has excellent STL-style pizza.
I love cheese and crackers. Imo's is like the greatest cheese and cracker of all. Then, throw some bacon and onion on that bad boy and you're set. Add a huge side salad with ranch, shredded cheese, iceberg lettuce and crumbled saltines and a 32 oz. Coke.
I don't know what there isn't to like about all that. This whole "cheese and crackers = a bad thing" doesn't make sense to me at all.
I like cracker style pizza as well, haltz. And I loved Imo's as a kid. The last few times I've had it, it seems to have gone downhill in quality. Perhaps overexpansion - I don't know why. But I offered Farotto's as an example of what I consider good STL (cracker) style pizza.
RC - would you consider Black Thorn and/or Lemmon's as St Louis style?

They have some STL-style elements (the sweet sauce) but they're very, very thick and don't use provel cheese (i.e. definitely not St. Louis-style). Their thin is bigger than anything you could get at Imo's, and their biggest is a Chicago style that's as good as you'll find in St. Louis.
