well, i got my phone back. some middle aged woman picked it up and gave it to her 12 year old kid who gave the phone the ol' factory reset and started putting his own [expletive] on it. The little bastard even wanted the $50, claiming he tried to get in contact with me but couldn't figure out how. We settled on $20 because I'm a pushover and I halfway believed him even though I probably shouldnt have.

android device manager didn't come with my phone, but it's a year or two old. Now it's there, but I originally installed Avast! which did the job.
