I know movies get remade all the time but the remakes are so rarely any good.
The one that's been driving me bat [expletive] bonkers lately is "Last House on the Left".

1. It's a remake of a 70's horror that was pretty mediocre

2. The 70's horror was a loose remake of an Ingmar Bergman film (Virgin Spring)

You know how when you have incest, eventually genetic irregularities show up and the next thing you know, some kid is retarded and has 3 teeth? This incarnation of "Last House on the Left" is that retard.
you racist bastard

I saw "Milk" over the weekend. It's a fantastic movie. And yes, Sean Penn does a great job, but he's not the only reason to see it by any means. Hell, I thought James Brolin did a better job than Penn.

I also watched a four hour documentary about the Nazi occupation of France- "The Sorrow and the Pity". If you're a history buff, especially a WWII history buff, I'd highly recommend seeing this thing.

Marvelous movie and Katie Johnson (Mrs. Wilberforce) just charms my socks off.

I do, in fact, have this set. Worth every cent.
"our man in havana" and "the horse's mouth" are good too.. but
not quite as good as those in the set..

oh.. i finished the "lone wolf and cub" movie series too..
all the boobies, campiness and spraying blood aside.. that was
easily one of the best movie series i've ever seen.. okay.. that
may be too much praise.. but i enjoyed the hell out of them..

lol, that sounds like a movie title they would have gone to see in Seinfeld.

Actually, it was referenced in "Annie Hall".

That must be where I heard it then. You can see why I might have thought it was Seinfeld.

Oh yeah, definitely. I'm drawing a blank now on specific movies they said they were going to see on Seinfeld, but "The Sorrow and the Pity" is a title that would fit right in.

the classic movie titles I remembered from Seinfeld: Rochelle, Rochelle; Prognosis Negative (probably my favorite); Sack Lunch; Chunnell.

From looking at the wiki page, it looks like there was one mentioned called The Pain and the Yearning, which fits with this discussion.
