well for me...the big mystery is where the [expletive] are they and what are the larger motives the corporation (name is currently escaping me).
Also, anyone else get a jurassic park vibe while watching last night's episode?

For sure. Had to be the heavily armed ops team and the off road buggy's they were driving around in.go birds wrote:Also, anyone else get a jurassic park vibe while watching last night's episode?

His Netflix show should be called David Letterman Licks People's Butts all Up and Down.
Maybe if it was people I'd never heard of or that weren't already deified it could be good. It is not and it is not.

Yes. It's great. On Season 1 the general opinion is mixed, but I think Seasons 2 and 3 are pretty universally loved.heyzeus wrote:Did anyone here watch The Leftovers?
I can see the whole thing rubbing some people the wrong way, though. Probably a top 5 show for me.

i stopped after season 1 because it was boring as hell.
I'm thinking about kicking Legion to the curb for the same reasons. Seems too self-indulgent by the director(s). Visually, it's nice and the music adds a certain element, but overall its...well...a chore.

The final season is pretty great and makes gutting out the first season well worth it.heyzeus wrote:Did anyone here watch The Leftovers?

Awards are trash and all that, but Carrie Coon should have at least two Emmys for The Leftovers.

Damn right, she is just spectacular all over this show. Endearing, tough, sarcastic, brave, vulnerable - just as believable but compelling as any character on TV has ever been.ghostrunner wrote:Awards are trash and all that, but Carrie Coon should have at least two Emmys for The Leftovers.
I liked Season 1 okay. It felt a bit more like your standard cult v. town story. And because the Guilty Remnant only writes, it was frustrating sitting there watching people scrawl something in sharpie on a notebook.
But overall: What a fine meditation on pain and loss, and how humanity tries to craft a worldview (and religions) to try to explain and cope with that pain and loss. I don't think I've seen a more moving show.
