I couldn’t even slog through the last season of HOC. It was a jumbled mess and hard to care.

I finished it last night after the game.InvincibleCakeEater wrote:finished it. It was just as good as the first season.MrCrowesGarden wrote:InvincibleCakeEater wrote:Blowing through it right now. It's good.CardsofSTL wrote:Stranger Things Season 2 tomorrow y'all
I haven't ripped through it by any means, but I watched the first episode today and liked it.

People recommended it to me, but couldn't do Kevin Spacey back then.heyzeus wrote:I couldn’t even slog through the last season of HOC. It was a jumbled mess and hard to care.

It's weird, because I feel like a latent homophobe, about his.... conveniently latent homosexuality. I dunno, everybody said "you got to watch House of Cards- you'll love it" and I'd say no because I hate Kevin Spacey due to Se7en, Moon, American Beauty, Usual Suspects. Didn't necessarily hate the movies Moon and Usual Suspects. I've liked actors that played "villians" before, but with Spacey it didn't seem like he was acting much. I heard an interview with him once that didn't dissuade me from these feelings. Anyways - since this was all just a vibe to me originally -I really had no evidence of this, I have conflicted feelings now that this has played out.

Finished Stranger Things. I loved it. And I just adore 11.

If I say all the things that are good about Stranger Things, I'll never stop.
The big thing is - when I have a question about why something is happening the way it is, they either answer it within an episode or two, or a character asks the same question. Unless it's some sort of Twin Peaks dream logic situation, you need to do one of those two things. They do that and it's so, so satisfying.
Apart from that, it's just so damn competent. The Duffer Brothers seem like they've been doing this for years. I suppose they have, but it's roughly a half dozen credits before this.
Also, it's better than the movies it is noted for copying. ET might be the exception, but even then I think it's equally well done.

Hmm. I heard an audio clip on NPR and it sounded like kids reading from a script trying to be cute.
