The patrol says that Ludwig had been driving east on Highway 30 in a 1996 Chevrolet S-10. The truck ran off the right side of the highway and overturned. Then, Ludwig managed to get his truck back onto the highway but crossed the eastbound lanes and ran off the other side of the highway.

The truck overturned twice, and Ludwig was thrown out of the truck. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said.
