That's killer news, luke.

Neither are my favored beer style -pale lagers I guess, but both were good treatment of beer standards which I had no trouble downing. I look forward to their other offerings and relish the spirit in which these beers were given.
I just tried the Capital Supper Club for the first time, myself. I had to laugh at the slogan- "Not Bad". That's just about it, really. The fact that it's called "Supper Club" kinda says it all.

I also tried the Capital Weizen Doppelbock, a limited release. I was honestly a little disappointed here.

But the real new discovery (and it seems like someone else here has mentioned it) is a Belgian beer- Gulden Draak. Sweet, hoppy, rich and brown... it's worth every last part of its 99 score on Rate Beer.

On trip Up North I stumbled across beer from Short's Brewery (Bellaire MI) called Huma-Lupa-Licious

Grandiosely marketed as "a complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth"...all I know is that it tasted dern good.

I wished I had saved more room in the bladder for this beer - but Bell's Two-hearted was available on tap.

Agree on the Supper Club - not bad. Not good, but not bad.

Up in Readstown, WI last weekend I bought some beer from a brewer called Potosi.

I got the Good Ol' Beer and the Pure Malt Cave Ale and both I give a thumbs up to.

The owner of the divey bar where I was hanging out- the same guy who convinced me to try pickled polish sausage for $1- was sort of singing the praises of the Potosi Brewery. I guess they used to be sort of big and then went out of business decades ago? He said the brewery is on a farm or something and it's a great tour.

O'Dell's Easy Street Wheat and Blue Moon Belgian Wheat are my go-to beers lately.

I picked up a 6-pack of O'Fallon Gold during my recent trip home and thought it was pretty good.

I splurged on a variety of new beers for the upcoming weekend and beginning of football beer season.

Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye -this is an excellent beer. Thank goodness the bizarre distribution rules allow this California beer to reach MO.
Founders-Double Trouble -another hoppy one. Damn good. Does anything Founder's make suck?

And since summer is turning the corner I'm delving into some of the darker sippin beers:
Bells - Porter I really like this porter. I won't try to describe it. Just a quality malty dark beer -sort of like the 1554 from New Belgium.
North Coast- Old Rasputin -holy crap its potent. A bit too strong for my likings but I still will finish them easily.

Arcadia Ales- Scotch Ale - Good stuff - but not great. A bit too carbonated. Arcadia though is a stalwart with a variety of good dark beers.

As my beer tastes evolve- I am gravitating towards the Scotch Ales as a beer of choice. Favorite Scotch Ales so far are Three Floyds -Robert the Bruce, and Schlafly's.

The "Back in Black" black IPA is phenomenal. Though I recently had a Clown Shoe Black IPA Cask Ale which blew it out of the water.

On the very good hopped up beer front:

New Belgium Hoptober. Yep. And Bear Republic Racer 5 -whoa. For some dumb reason I was sharing this with some friends that would have been contented with Bud Light.
