So i just read that the total amount of money the NFL and the NFL Refs are split on is $10m over 10 years.

Considering the NFL is an 11bil/year profit machine and the NFL Ref issue is a huge black eye on their reputation, you would think $10million over 10 years would be a rounding error in such an important part of the game.

After the first two weeks it's pretty obvious that it takes a lot of time and experience to get to the NFL level for refereeing, and it seems like a petty amount of money to argue over.

The replacement refs make a mockery of the game on Monday night....meanwhile at NFL headquarters the NFL is still fining players for wearing a red undershirt instead of a white one. Good thing Albert doesn't play football.

It's interesting that the Broncos OC has lasted since the Josh McDaniel's era.

I think the question is how much money is the lockout's attention generating? How many fans are tuning in more to see calls get blown and the players blow-up? How many major news shows are devoting time to the lockout - no publicity is bad publicity, eh?

This kind of dog and pony show can't last forever, but it might not hurt the nfl to keep it going until the first bye week.

Philadelphia Eagles notebook: Cullen Jenkins as an offensive lineman? Almost

As Philadelphia Eagles offensive linemen continued to fall Sunday like trees at a lumberjack convention, defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins started to worry.

The Birds started Sunday's 24-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens with just two backup offensive linemen active, Dallas Reynolds and Demetress Bell. By the third quarter, both were playing due to injuries to center Jason Kelce (knee) and tackle King Dunlap (hamstring).

And if one more offensive lineman had gone down, Andy Reid had made clear who was going in.

"I actually went over and talked to the defensive about that," Reid said. "I was going to pick one of those guys. I would have started with the oldest and heaviest one."

That would be Jenkins, at 31 years old and 305 pounds.

"Andy came over and told me about playing offensive line and I wasn't sure if he was joking," Jenkins said. "I was just talking trash to the Ravens' defensive line, so I'd have had a lot of apologizing to do. I'd never played offensive line, I was a running back in high school."

Asked what spot he'd play on the offensive line, Jenkins laughed.

"We'd have had to do a muddle-huddle thing the rest of the game, switching it up," he said.

Then they won't ever settle. The truth is fans, players and officials can moan all they want... the owners only have to wait until the refs take their offer.
