But IPA's are just one of those things that you have to have the taste for, which I do not. They all taste so incredibly bitter to me. I wouldn't say in the general sense that it tasted bad, but compared to other beer it tasted bad. I just don't have the IPA tongue.
You know, I used to like IPA's a lot. But they started giving me heartburn, and now it's forced me to change my beer drinking. More often than not, I'll go for a brown or a stout than I will a Pale Ale or an IPA.
Outside of a few "big" IPA's like Dogfish 90 and Bell's Two Hearted I've started drinking more mellow IPAs. I think a few years ago brewers were trying to hop the living hell out of their IPAs to see who could make the hoppiest beer that was stilll drinkable. Now there seem to be more balanced ones on offer. I'm a big fan of the Two Brothers Resistance IPA. It's bright, a tad crisp and very well balanced.
I'm not a huge pale ale fan either but I had this the other day and thought it was awesome. Flying Dog Pale Ale.
Can you get Long Trail's IPA out there? It's a phenomenal .. revivalist?...IPA. I've been hopped out of the market right now as well, though I have hops growing in my back yard now and they smell incredible.
I don't think I've seen it but I'll keep an eye out. Where does it come from?
I understand what you are trying to do. IPA's are easy. Wheat beers are good gateway beers for the light beer crowd. But please, bottle and widely distribute something besides these two options. I hate when I go to the grocery store and am limited to basically these two styles.
The least I ask is for more porters. Another easy style, enjoyed by many. Yet you rarely give them more than a token effort. Next, please realize that Germany has much more to offer than wheat beers. Give me some options for dopplebocks, schwartzbiers, or at the very least some dunkels.
I just drank a couple of New Glarus' and I now have to cleanse the pallet with a Budweiser. I really really like Budweiser, as much as any other beer to be honest. When InBev or whatever bought them I tried not to drink it but I couldn't stop.

Definitely. They've sort of become a brewer that I actively seek out now when I go into a bar with a wider selection, much like Bell's used to be when I was familiarizing myself with them.

Word. I had their Cerise last night which, as cherry beers go, was pretty good.
