The dude was swinging a 3 foot sword with a sheath nearby. I can't imagine they'd let him use it if it was sharp. but it was a sword.

Kettleball - I did swing it for a day or so after a primer course on using it from a PT friend. Concluded that there isn't normally enough space, and waiting until space clears takes too much time, (and got plenty of other workout stuff I could do)

Here is what I do with a kettle ball -some core strength work that seems to help my stability when running trails
- a suitcase walk around the track - some people use two - called a farmers walk. I stick with the one and focus on balancing out -maintain posture as I walk.

And the Waiter Walk -

Those kettle balls look like they would take my shoulder out. And if I let go watch out. They just look like a bad idea all the way around. I see people swinging them around. I keep waiting for someone that works at the place to blow a whistle or something and start shouting at someone to stop. But no, it's quite the opposite. People actually pay extra money to get individualized sessions that encourage the activity.

I don't really know where to put this, so I'll put it here.

We went to Ruston this past weekend for the LA Tech homecoming. It's kind of a tradition. Anyway, we were set to go out to dinner Friday night with some old friends. Also, as part of this tradition, we do the one thing that you can do in Louisiana that can't be done anywhere else in America....go through the drive thru daiquiri stand and get a daiquiri upon getting into town.

As usual, I get the biggest most alcoholic [expletive] they got and go to town. But, holy [expletive]. I don't know what was in this thing. It was only 32 oz, but it was the first and almost last drink of the night. [expletive] hell, it must have been half everclear. I start drinking it, all is good. About an hour later, after drinking half of the 32 oz, I'm drooling on myself drunk and have the worst/only case of heartburn I've ever had in my entire life. I had to quit drinking it because I was so damn drunk and my chest was on fire. WTF did they put in there, ethanol. Also, to rule out liver failure, I went ahead and drank some busch light the next day...you know...to make sure the ole liver was still filtering alcohol properly, and yep, I'm good. Which brings me back to this point.....I think they made it by mixing three things: a little bit of ice, a little bit of strawberry puree, and the rest of it is PGA or something similar. They need to make shirts that say, I took the Strawberry Shocker challenge and Failed MISERABLY!

And here I am just trying to get south of 325. But considering I was pushing 375 a year ago, I'll take it.

That's a lot of weight. You should be quite proud of yourself.

Thanks. I was a little too proud for a while and slacked off. I stalled out for the last couple of months. I'm trying to refocus again, and just had my first drop of ~5 lbs this week.
