If that's the case, it would signal a change in how the FO works. I guess it could happen though.Faceman wrote:The real question is this.
Do you think the front office wants to re-sign Holliday? Or, do you hope he crushes the ball, leads the Cards deep into October, and then signs a huge deal somewhere else, stockpiling the picks.
We are all talking that the picks are consolation. But maybe the Cards FO isn't looking at it that way. They want him to produce, which will drive him next contract high. I'm not confident they'll try to resign him. Arbitration is just another year, which you can deal with.
For me personally, now that we have him...if we can afford to keep him and Pujols, do it.

I'll bet he's stuck in Friday traffic on 95. We couldn't spring him a ticket?KyCardinalFan wrote:Go ahead. Say it. Well, thanks. I know things can get testy and I wasn't trying to start trouble. Probably went over the line I suppose.keener98 wrote:Heh, things pretty touchy over there at times. Give it a week or so and Im sure they will let you back. Hell they kept letting Meph come back lolFaceman wrote:Yeah I hear ya. I agree that every board has them. He loved playing in Chicago, but I think that is partly wishful thinking.
What they don't realize is he isn't a fan. He's a player. And apparently, St. Louis is a great place in the eyes of many players.
BTW - I'm still reading there although I just figured out two days ago (I was trying to post something in the Haren thread) that I've been banned.
I think the central is going to be wild from here. I expect the Cubs and Brewers to pick it up, and the Astros aren't going anywhere. Should be fun.

If the ticket costs $1.5M or less we can pay it.JackofDiamonds wrote:I'll bet he's stuck in Friday traffic on 95. We couldn't spring him a ticket?KyCardinalFan wrote:Go ahead. Say it.
