Dude kinda reminds me of Sonny Gray
That fastball has life. Hopefully the command issues were the result of coming off injury (most baseball fans know command is last thing to come back after major surgery).

When he commands it to upper quadrants that fastball explodes.
Impressive

Bernie's take on the Gray trade; a few interesting factoids.

Bernie doesn't care about Clarke's ERA but goes on to talk about Gray's ERA in 7 starts above 88 degrees lol

Looking at a few Red Sox boards, they want another pitcher to be their #2. They would be disappointed if Sonny turns out to be slotted as their #2. It must be nice to have an owner who spends that much money.

I noticed that; though I think the ERA of a high A pitcher who is still developing is not all that important. And I think Bernie was trying to make the point that Gray had some peculiarities in his results that were worth analysis. But he probably could have found a better stat to show the same thing.

Much of Bernie’s act is to make strawman arguments and knock them down. He’s a permission structure to have a payroll below $100 million in a market that drew 3 million fans for a generation.

And to complain about something that three people have said on Twitter

Sonny’s first presser as a Red Sox.

If you don’t want to give Sports Illustrated your email, he dumps on the Yankees and says he’s glad to be in a place where hating the Yankees is a plus.

Redbird Rants has a better article, and you don’t have to give them your email:
