My kids' favorite word is humuhumunukunukuapua'a. It's the official fish of Hawaii.

Re: Good words
The R is one of the most menacing sounds in the English language. That's why it's called, "Murder" and not, "Muckduck."

I do like ennui. I also like countenance. And ne'er-do-well. Oh, and cattywampus.

Re: Good words
I'm not sure if it's an officially recognized word as of yet, but Cockwomble is outstanding.

Re: Good words
Another word that probably isn't officially recognized: Compersion.
It's a word that is common in Polyamory circles. It means joy derived from your partners joy. It's like the opposite of jealousy. If your partner goes on a date with someone else and they come back beaming from having a great time and that make YOU happy. That's compersion.

It's technically two words, but cattywampus' sister phrase is definitely catty corner.Richie Allen wrote: ↑May 17 22, 1:01 pmI do like ennui. I also like countenance. And ne'er-do-well. Oh, and cattywampus.

It’s an oldie, but words don’t get much better than “shenanigans.”
