I do not understand the question.

The replays? A good bar in StL? Live games online?

Yo, you guys remember Jermaine Jones' goal? That was the [expletive].

He wants to come to MLS and that goal just added a couple mil onto that contract for sure.

Online? WatchESPN/ESPN3.com but you have to a login with an approved ISP.

Univision, which does not require a login with an approved ISP. That's how I watched us choke away the Portugal game yesterday.

What the hell kind of bull [expletive] is that?

Soccer seems very receptive to using technology - instant replay for goals and stuff like that. So why on earth do they not put the freaking time left in a game on a clock? Does everyone just trust that mofo with the watch? I don't.

Exactly. Why let the human element get in the way of getting it right?
This is way different than that. I'm just saying I don't get why they don't just put the watch the official has on a big scoreboard. The same equivalent in baseball would be not showing the count and the number of outs - why should you with all of the clickers that the umps carry. Or in football not showing down and distance (or the clock).

I just don't get this at all. Do we know for sure the ump didn't put too much time on his clock? Do they really stop it on the second - or is there discretion if there is an attack? in other words let's say some guy is just running toward the net with the ball and nobody in front of him - would the ref stop play on the exact second or would he let the play finish out?

I really like your idea of putting it on a big clock so there's at least some accountability after the game. FIFA protects refs too much.

It's completely arbitrary. The US color guy for ESPN, Taylor Twellman, reported that eye witnesses saw the added time was displayed on the ref's board as 4 minutes, then when Graham Zusi took his time getting to the sideline when he was subbed out, the guy added a full minute arbitrarily. Probably took Zusi 25 seconds to get off the field. Then of course, the US concedes the latest goal in WC group stage history.

Not an excuse for giving up that goal, but an indication that they should figure out a more precise method for adding time.

Study showed that Man U got an extra minute of stoppage time when behind at home vs when ahead.

The Guardian, a British newspaper, studied 60 Manchester United home matches from 2006 to 2009 and found the powerhouse club got to play nearly a minute more when it was behind or tied than it did when it was ahead.

So called 'Fergie Time' was a well recognised phenomenon. So many ManU games would seem to run & run until United either got a penalty or scored a winner.

The bastards.
