Can someone do a payroll write up for next year with a Holliday extension at 16/16.25 mil per and a DeRosa extension of 8/9 mil a year?

Possibly a 4 yr, 65 mil deal for Holliday and a 3 yr, 24 for DeRosa?

What does that put the payroll at?

What do those two deals do for the payroll next year with all the subtractions we're making? What does Ludwick make next year (I don't see any posts considering payroll regarding the raise he may get)? Just curious as to what our payroll does if we re-sign those two guys at those prices...

Hell, let's also say we re-sign Piniero at 8 mil a year for 3 years (is that reasonable?) and fill the 5th spot within the organization?

I came up with 92 million (disregarding performance bonuses) for these players (assuming 16 for Holliday, 8 for DeRosa, 8 for Piniero, and 5 for Ludwick, and 1 million for Trevor Miller and LaRue)

Pujols, Holliday, Ludwick, Molina, DeRosa, Wainwright, Carpenter, Lohse, Piniero, Franklin, Reyes, Miller, LaRue

Thats 13 roster players...so we need to fill in 12 roster spots at roughly 13 million

Rasmus and Ryan are probably under 750 K, you can probably fill a 5th rotation spot from within for under 500 K

What does Schu get? Couple mill? I don't know the rules behind all the arb eligible stuff and how long they are under our control

So say Schu gets 2, no idea if tahts right, and those guys each get 750 K...you need to fill in 4 relievers (McLellan, Motte?) and 4 bench spots with probably 9 mill....thats doable no?

There was one person on NSBB who said something along the lines of hoping that DeRosa could nix the deal just because he wouldn't want to play with the Cardinals after being a Cub.

DeRosa seems almost like a minor deity to Cubs fans.
