Meyer said he was getting “a little bit tired of a minute minority in this country that keeps pushing Christmas out, keep pushing God out, keep pushing Christ out, when the majority is still a Judeo-Christian country.”
Ummm

First, I don't think that person understands math if they think the majority of the country is still Judeo Christian if I remember plenty of recent polls (and I could easily be wrong).

Second, if the purpose of the break is truly to observe Christmas then don't we have to do away with the break entirely? Are public schools allowed to break based on religious beliefs? Maybe they are. i was about to bring up separation of church and state but I'm not sure that applies completely?

I'm too excited about getting this day over with so I can start my four day weekend with some softball tonight and then a few days of boating to put together an actual coherent thought. Doesn't stop me from opening my fat mouth here though.

75% looks like a majority to me....

But even I as a practicing Christian think the winter break should be just that, a winter break, not Christmas break.

I was definitely wrong on that one!

I wasn't sure at all what the actual numbers are, I just remember that they are shifting away from religion in general, not just Christianity I think. The link you included trends the same way although not as drastic as what I'd seen from other polls. Then again, I don't think polls should be used to get an absolute number but more of a directional or temperature gauge. And I can't verify the neutrality of the polls I saw awhile back.

If I were a baseball player I don't think I would take 4 games off for a new baby. Just wouldn't. My wife might not be so good with that.

I bet she would be fine with you making millions of dollars as a baseball player though....

I almost wish the internet didnt exist so our brains didn't have to be troubled with this level of asshattery. Would love to have seen Ali stare this puss down.

Hope he feels the same way about all the politicians who got deferments because they were too precious to enlist, or NUgent who feigned mental illness.
