I hope he's not in the lineup, and I don't know who would replace him, but I'd be surprised if he had one forward pass completed today except like little dumps to a guy 10 feet away. Horrible, horrible game. That one he gave away when dempsey was streaking was terrible too. The kicking it right at a guy with a wide open net (sans that one guy) was bad, not as easy as it looked, but the giveaways and losses are just annoying to no end. Terrible terrible terrible world cup for him so far. Easily the worst world cup of any player on America right now. Just....terrible.
How many US games have you watched in the last 6 years?
Oh please, you know he has had awful games. And you don't have to be a huge fan to see it. Let me rephrase it though. Bradley is playing godawful.
Saying he should be benched is something no one who has ever seen him play more than 180 minutes of soccer would ever say. He is our best, most important player, period. You ride or die with him.
I was curious because if you're a fan and just being emotional, that's one thing. If you aren't and you think you're coming with some hard hitting scouting, you're just ignorant.
Can someone explain to me why people morph into an entirely different language when discussing soccer? Is that like some sort of dog whistle to other True Fans(tm)?

It's the EPL lingo effect. Our coaches as kids, tv exposure and cues are overwhelmingly English.

I suppose that makes sense. It's just weird to hear Americans use words and phraseology like that when there are equivalent terms everyone already knows from our main sports here.

What i want to know is, what would it take for US not to advance
Losing and Ghana beating Portugal and making up their -1 gd. Losing and Portugal beating Ghana making up their -5 gd.
I follow, thanks trill....But for double affirmation, head to head win vs Ghana does not overrule goal differential?

Re: benching Bradley. Same thing as our pie_in-the sky baseball notions(which I am always guilty of)-what alternatIive does Klinsmann have? Or football...do you change QBs at playoff time? tis even more pronounced with set rosters of WC.

I hate saying this, but I would love for Klinnsman and Germany to get together this week and just agree to take it easy on each other and go on with a 0-0 tie and some well rested players.
I would quit watching the world cup if they're allowed to do that....
It'll never happen, but it's just an interesting situation.
Something similar did happen in 1982. Now they play the games at the same time.
Algeria had already played their final group game the day before, and West Germany and Austria knew that a West German win by 1 or 2 goals would qualify them both, while a larger German victory would qualify Algeria over Austria, and a draw or an Austrian win would eliminate the Germans. After 10 minutes of all-out attack, West Germany scored through a goal by Horst Hrubesch. After the goal was scored, the two teams kicked the ball around aimlessly for the rest of the match. Chants of "Fuera, fuera" ("Out, out") were screamed by the Spanish crowd, while angry Algerian supporters waved banknotes at the players. This performance was widely deplored, even by the German and Austrian fans. One German fan was so upset by his team's display that he burned his German flag in disgust.[2] Algeria protested to FIFA, who ruled that the result be allowed to stand; FIFA introduced a revised qualification system at subsequent World Cups in which the final two games in each group were played simultaneously.
