Yeah, Maton is a lock to go if we sell.

Probably our second most valuable trade asset.
Really an indictment on this organization. If true.

Well, I was really only including the guys who are expiring and Arenado.

Mikolas and Gray would both be unwilling to waive their respective no-trade clauses
https://www.si.com/mlb/cardinals/st-lo ... gray-zach3
USA Today's Bob Nightengale recently dropped the bombshell report that indicated Mikolas and Gray would both be unwilling to waive their respective no-trade clauses if the Cardinals tried to deal them away from St. Louis.
"Cardinals starters Sonny Gray and Miles Mikolas still say they have no interest in leaving St. Louis, and would exercise their no-trade clauses to veto any potential deals," Nightengale wrote.
Just catching up on this thread, What's the reasoning here if you're them? Mikolas especially? Contract is up, team isn't making the playoffs, someone who might make the post season could possibly use you, and maybe at least a snowball's chance in hell some series of injuries gets you on a postseason roster.

I know nobody's going to want him, but on his end I don't get it.

Yeah I’m not sure; esp when your option is (or should be) get DFAd yourself or at best get thrown to long relief/only get used in blowouts

I’d at least see if anyone had any interest in me. (Not like they would, but still)…he lives in Jupiter FL anyways so it’s not like he’s uprooting family for 2-3 months max

Where else in the big leagues will he get to hear the Budweiser jingle 20 times per game?

I kind of feel like Nado will be traded. Just a gut feeling.

We need to be sellers, problem is there is nothing to sell that people want minus Helsey. My guess is Arenado’s list of teams he’s willing to go to is small, but maybe he’ll get out now that it’s quite clear the team is terrible.

I don’t understand this talk of leahy as a starter? He’s always been awful as a starter since we drafted him. Just terrible.

That’s why we moved him to the bullpen.

The Cardinals have a lot they can trade. The deadline with a lame duck POBO stuck in 2005 isn’t the way to do it. This will be a big offseason.
