Re: Blues Off-season and 2025-26 Season
I’m surprised we got Suter and over the moon at the aav and term. I had just assumed we wouldn’t get him because I figured he would get at least 4 years.
Perfect stopgap. Good defensive 3C who showed he can score some on a scoring line. (He won’t hit 25 goals again unless we are really decimated with injuries or has crazy chemistry with Kyrou and Holloway or something)
Also helps the pk a ton and, hopefully, also the pulled goalie situation. Feels like a good, deep team that is tough to play against.
If Mailloux hits even as a solid second pairing guy, the Blues are looking very good.
EDIT: Even if Sunny is the 13th forward, he’ll play in plenty of games. It will work itself out.

Getting greedy. Hoping for extensions for Broberg and Holloway. Also hoping a team who needs to reach the cap floor claims leddy and we bring back suter to help mentor mailloux and tucker on the bottom pair. Everyone fits, the core is extended, then day one we get krug’s ltir relief for in season moves.

Leddy gets claimed by SJ, so basically get suter for free this year lol

Sharks claim him
Apparently the blues and SJ had a trade worked out, but leddy wouldn’t waive his NTC to go there.
So army waives him and they get their guy anyways; and we use his money this year towards suter
I sure hope Steen has learned from Army, cause he’s been on fire the last few years with deals

I feel kinda bad for Leddy, but that's the business side of the game for ya.

I hope Leddy has a good year and can get traded to a contender at the deadline. (lol if it’s us smh) Hearing the Blues are still “trying hard to get Byram”. Love him as a player and would love him in a vacuum, but where would he play? He isn’t coming here for LD3 minutes, he doesn’t want to play on the right, and you surely can’t demote Broberg or Fowler.
Also, who would we move? We’re no longer swimming in sure thing wingers. Projecting a rookie on the top line in Snuggs.
Also a lot of LD on the way. No one at Byram’s level obviously, but seems odd.
Edit: unless maybe they view suter as a winger and the bug guy as the 3C. Or geez, do they think they can just drop in Carb… carbo… our giant first round pick this year on the third line? Do they think stenberg is ready and move neighbors, or somehow Buchy?
Would they start 3 rookies in the top9? Do they think dvo is ready for the 3C? 4 rookies in the top9? Surely not, right?

No more John Kelly on the broadcasts. It'll be Kerber/Vitale doing simulcasts. Alexa Datt is also gone from the studio.

I like Kerber, but this is awful. Kelly is an STL institution.

This sucks. I'm okay with Alexa Datt being gone though.
