I would bet CardsofSTL's paycheck there are huge number of people already infected with this virus that don't even know it, and as more and more tests get done, the number of cases will skyrocket.

I've been thinking the same thing since that Washington nursing home blew up with no obvious connections. Half of us are already infected and half of them are already over it.

Swine Flu Has Killed Up To 17,000 In U.S.: Report
Article from February 12, 2010

H1N1 swine flu has killed as many as 17,000 Americans, including 1,800 children, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Friday.

The swine flu pandemic put as many people into the hospital as during the normal influenza season - but most were younger adults and children instead of the elderly, and it was during the months when usually very little or no flu is circulating, the CDC said.

No shut down of Baseball or any other sport then, and the reporting by the media was a few blips here and there, not we are all doomed 24/7

this is my favorite time of year. baseball season starting, nhl playoffs soon, march madness...what am I supposed to watch now?!!?
You could watch all six seasons of Bojack Horseman on Netflix. I'd recommend that, actually.
It would be a good time to buy some Netflix stock.

You could retire if you won that big of a bet.

Zoom VIdeo Communications. I wanted to buy some stock in October when it was in the $60s and never got around to it, last I checked it was $125. I have regrets.

The more experts I read, the less sure I am that there will be a season at all.

At least in terms of making the playoffs.

Sorry. I had to.

But yes, I agree. People point to the numbers dropping in China, but they are still locked down, no? And it seems the number of cases we know about in the US is just the tip of the iceberg, especially given the lack of testing.

Jeez, just when I was feeling optimistic that this would blow over in 2-3 weeks
