That's not too bad of a deal. I'm mostly just happy we got rid of Lehtera's contract without retaining. I can't really complain about giving up the extra pick we got for Shatty in a weaker draft and another first to turn Lehtera into a player with some skill.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Condition listed above: top 10 protected, Blues can also defer pick to 2019 if they want to, but would give up a 2020 3rd to do so.
Schenn led NHL in PP goals last season.

And they're taking Klim Kostin with 31. Awesome pick.

I will miss Reaves, but that is insane value for any 4th liner. Great start to the offseason for Army.MrCrowesGarden wrote:And they're taking Klim Kostin with 31. Awesome pick.

Yep. Even with Schenn's salary, they may have opened up enough money to sign Parayko and still get a Justin Williams type at wing.

Such a great day when you look at the net difference between start/end:
In:
Schenn
Sundqvist
#31 overall (to pick a player that was in the late teens in a lot of mocks I saw)
Out:
Lehtera
Reaves
#27 overall
#51 overall
2018/19 first rounder

exactly...i love reaves and will def miss him, but he will turn 31 this season on the last year left on his deal, and i'm not sure we would've signed him to an extension when he'd turn 32 the season after this one with his skill set.albertmvpujols wrote:I will miss Reaves, but that is insane value for any 4th liner. Some scouting agencies had Kostin as the #1 Euro skater. Probably only slid because of the Russia factor.albertmvpujols wrote:Such a great day when you look at the net difference between start/end:
