I'm confused about your tangent rant. What stretch of road are you referring to?
Chesterfield Valley floods and got billions of dollars in investment since last flood.
Nothing near that ginormous. I meant Manchester Road between Brentwood and Hanley. Their flooding potential has gotten worse since the developments to it's north.

My office outer wall is nothing but a giant window. The ice and sleet all day has been just pounding it, it's like a Chinese Water Torture. At first it wasn't so bad, but after hearing it all day it's starting to stress me out a little bit.

Actually a big residential development is being proposed on N side of Manchester just west of Hanley.
But yeah that's a flood prone area. Used to work in a warehouse in that stretch on the south side.

We got about 10" of rain in Springfield, MO when I was home over the weekend visiting the family. Our neighborhood car dealership was under 3-4 feet of water thanks to bad drainage. It's a huge Ford dealership with a few hundred vehicles, so I'm sure they'll be having quite the insurance claim.
Wife and I got to drive back up to Minnesota in this crap Monday afternoon. Took us 11 hours to get from Springfield, MO to Mason City, IA, when it should have taken us about 7. We decided to stop for the night there rather than continue the couple hour drive the rest of the way back to the Twin Cities. We finished it yesterday morning.
So many vehicles in the ditch or median. We actually saw one plow truck that had gone off in the median and was getting towed out.
