That's how I workout. Weight lifting can be cardio. I don't think I'm up at 160 for extended periods, but it's definitely a solid 120-140 with a spike here and there for an hour.
doing cardio at the end of a gym workout - when your muscles are already fatigued from lifting - is a [expletive], but really beneficial for building endurance.

Lifting back, like doing pull ups or pull down cables or pull down machines or rows or row bars or any [expletive] thing that is supposed to work lats or lower traps or any of those other little muscles below the scapula, is pointless. I never get sore; it constantly hurts doing it; and I can never lift more a week or a few days later. No gains whatsoever. No more definition whatsoever. I hate back. Seems like a waste of time.
Sounds like you work that a lot more than me. but I get the similar thing - I stay at about the same amount of chin-ups.
Though I do think sticking with it, they've gotten easier. I don't dread the chin-ups like b/f and not as wiped out by them. Progress is not measured by weight, but by the effort level used and ability to do them with more control/better form -

come to think of it -that may be part of the deal -many of the back exercises -like lat pulldowns or rows- are conducive to breaking form/using gravity/other non-back muscles to get the last reps.

Maybe when you try to up your weight next time, reduce the reps to where you can still maintain the form you've mastered at a lower weight with higher reps.

There's a Golds Gym radio ad around here where this guy is giving his testimonial and says he went from a size 45 to size 32 waist in 12 weeks. That's just insulting.

I don't think it's even physiologically possible. If you make it all the way to a 45 inch waist at any point, I don't think you would have a narrow enough hip structure to even make it back to 32 no matter how long you work at it. There's a 60+ lb difference between the WSOML and the BSOML and I think my waist only changed by 4 or 5 inches.

Side note: Gold's Gym is a terrible company, avoid them at all costs.
