Earnest Ross, a big, strong 6-foot-5, 220-pound wing who averaged 13.1 points and 6.6 rebounds a year ago for Tony Barbee and the Tigers, confirmed he will transfer to Missouri on Tuesday.
``It’s the best fit for me,” Ross told CBSSports.com. ``It’s a family atmosphere, the fans are crazy and they really treated both me and my mother like a part of the family.”
Ross will sit out this season and have two years left.
Ross said he also considered Marquette, West Virginia, Texas Tech and Clemson.
``I think I can make an immediate impact here and can also get national exposure,” said Ross, who said he will work to improve his consistency shooting the ball next season while sitting out.
New Missouri coach Frank Haith has focused on trying to add a few transfers to the equation since the Tigers will lose six players after this season. He added one-year transfer George Goode, who is eligible to play this season, from Louisville and is close to getting Pepperdine guard Keion Bell.

He has 9 scholarships to fill next year, several transfers or JUCOs are going to be necessary to balance the classes(Thanks Mike Anderson!). To that effect, the leading scorer and rebounder on a BCS conference team is a very nice get. And if it's elite talent you're after, 5-star Rodney Purvis can't shut up about how much he loved his visit to Columbia last weekend, and 4-star Ish Wainwright is already committed for 2013.

I agree with TT. I'm on board with Haith and ready to give him a solid chance.
