He's accomplished what he wanted to, which is to bring attention to himself.
Honestly, his act doesn't bother me that much......... he's got every right to go WWE if he wants to. I just think it's a little disingenuous when you act like a jackass and then wonder why people call you a jackass. Dont' manufacture storm clouds and then say "oh no, it's raining!".

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/2 ... 37151.htmlStephen Colbert noticed a strange coincidence about this year's Super Bowl: Each team, the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos, hail from a state that has legalized recreational marijuana. And this is an alarming trend for Colbert.
"Pot and football do not mix," he said. "They're like oil and water, or baseball and excitement."
Watch as he points out how this will totally change the Super Bowl experience if they try to cater to stoners. "All the Super Bowl commercials are going to be for munchies, and all the ads are going to have freaky talking babies and animals!"

Warning: Don't Take The Bait
Whether you think cornerback Richard Sherman of the (NFC champion?) Seahawks is a smacktalk poet laureate or just another loudmouth doesn't matter. He's a shrewd, dedicated lockdown defender who doesn't mind getting on his opponents' nerves—in fact, he prefers it that way

Translation: He's an attention whore, just like many other NFL players.

perhaps. it does seem harsh to judge him on a 15 sec sound byte though. just like it'd also be weird to judge peyton as a man after his post game interview.

I'm not judging him. I'm judging the way he acted. It was completely inappropriate and classless...........there's really no way around that. When you're REALLY good, you don't need to repeatedly tell everyone how good you are, and how "Player XYZ" should shut their mouth before you shut it for them.
Is it too much to ask a grown man to act like a grown man when he's asked a question in front of millions of Americans? Not to mention, this isn't the first time he's behaved this way. Again, if that's the image that he's trying to portray, he has every right to do it. Just don't change your story later when you get called out for it. Own it.

I thought Sherman was hilarious...amped up to make the game winning play and send his team to the Super Bowl.

I probably would have laughed it off if this isn't exactly what he's known for doing. Yes, he's one of, if not the best corners in the league, but Fox ran a segment about him & how all he does is trash talk constantly. I'm sure the mic'd up stuff is the PG version of all the garbage this dude says. It just sounds like he's a grade a prick.Socnorb11 wrote:Jocephus wrote:perhaps. it does seem harsh to judge him on a 15 sec sound byte though. just like it'd also be weird to judge peyton as a man after his post game interview.

You're certainly entitled to be entertained by it. It get it.
I think it was selfish. It put the focus on him, rather than his team accomplishment. That's basically what his coach told him, as well. He agreed. It was funny in a WWF kind of way, which was his intention. Like I said, that's fine.......... as long as you're going to own it. Just don't say later that you didn't mean to do it, when you clearly did.
Personally, I don't have a problem with him confronting Crabtree, if he felt the need. Larry Bird and Michael Jordan used to trash-talk, too. The difference is that they didn't act like caged animains in front of a camera............ they normally did their business on the court.
