Allen was a combination of fantastic and fortunate. D-men had a pretty good game with corralling pucks and clearing out the zone.

Forwards had a generally poor night. Outside of a ~10 minute stretch in the 1st, they couldn't maintain any sustained pressure in the offensive zone. Power plays were weak.

Glad we stole one in a jacked-up environment on the road, but they are going to need to play a LOT better if they want to win this series.

That sounds like a good breakdown, because there's a very slim chance they win another game being out shot like they were last night.

Hopefully this is more like game 1 vs Chicago last year than game 1 vs San Jose last year. Game 2 will be telling.

I thought Allen's nickname was Snake, not Cujo. Whoever he is, I'll take it.

The Blues can and will play better than that, but everyone who said, oh the Wild have sucked for 2 months... yeah, still taking them lightly after that outright domination? Every series will be a dogfight. Lots of parity in the league.

It wouldn't fix everything but missing Stastny really sucks. He's probably the 2nd or 3rd best forward on the team.
