I've been using the name on forums for so long that I sometimes forget that I didn't think of it. It turns out that some weirdo gaming "insider" who trolled a bunch of sites has been using the same name.
And thanks! If I say anything truly out of left field, just mark it down to me being English, and only being a Cardinals fan since 2008 (I have the good fortune of being married to a St Louis native).

Apparantly a Harper Lee novel -sequel to To Kill A Mockingbird- is being published.

Re: Book thread
While I'm not really familiar w/ who the popular author's are these days, I stumbled upon this book randomly at a used book store when I was on vacation simply because the cover looked interesting and the brief write-up on the inside cover seemed interesting.
But I'll be damned if it wasn't one of the most exciting books I've read! (and admittingly, that's not a ton).
The book is called "The 13th Hour" by Richard Doetsch. For those that like thriller type books I recommend checking it out.

Man, "Middlemarch" is tough going. It's a great book, but there's a lot to take in. You can't read it quickly (or I can't, at least).

Not a book, but The Atlantic today has a new web-based version of a David Foster Wallace article they published back in 2005, "The Host.". I'd never read this piece before, and any "new" DFW is precious.

Cool story, bro'.
Does he intend to say, "His computer monitors' displays also show the exact time," or is that just [expletive] writing? He looks at his computer when he wants to know what time it is.

I listened to 'So You've Been Publicly Shamed' by Jon Ronson at work. It's really very interesting.
Covers that girl yelling at the tomb of the unknown soldier, #donglegate, Mike Daisy's fake apple production story from This American Life (he comes off as a real piece of work), that lady who tweeted the white people/AIDS thing, and some fraudulent authors.
Thoughtful stuff. Well presented. Drags here and there, a couple sections I wish I'd skipped, but otherwise a great take on our strange new world.
